Musings on the future of PH film industry

THE REEL WORLD

As Philippine Film Industry Month comes to an end this September, I hope we can find time to reflect on where we are now as an industry and what we need to do to not just recover from the effects of the pandemic but to plan and prepare our sector for a brighter future.

The Philippine Film industry is now 103 years old. Yet, basic film policies and enabling laws crucial to establishing this industry's baseline standards are practically non-existent, with those that are barely applicable to the sector not being enforced.
