Govt urged to stop fish importation

INTERNATIONAL advocacy organization Oceana is calling on the government to stop fish importation, urgently implement sustainable and science-based plans in Fisheries Management Areas (FMAs) and hold accountable illegal fishers in municipal waters.

FMAs management is a policy reform under Fisheries Administrative Order 263 which delineated the country's fisheries into 12 areas and which if fully implemented will rebuild the Philippine fisheries.
