THE Department of Finance (DoF) said on Sunday that service contractors that provide temporary or outsourced personnel, including those in work-from-home (WFH) arrangements, are not liable to pay a mayor's or business permit fee.
The DoF made the announcement after Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno issued Local Finance Circular (LFC) 001.2022 on Sept. 1, 2022, which provides guidelines on the imposition of local business tax (LBT) and fees on service contractors. LFC 001.2022 takes effect on Sept. 24, 2022.
