Egypt says left-wing activist among 46 prisoners freed

Cairo, Egypt: Egypt announced on Thursday (Friday in Manila) the release of 46 prisoners, including a prominent left-wing activist and lawyer who had been behind bars for four years.

The prosecutor had decided to free '46 detainees', including 'left-wing lawyer Haitham Mohamedin', Tariq al-Awad, a member of Egypt's Presidential Pardon Committee, said on Twitter.
