VICE President and Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio led the commemoration of the 124th anniversary of the opening of the Malolos Congress held at the historic grounds of Barasoain Church in the City of Malolos in Bulacan on Thursday, September 15.
The event was also attended by top local officials of the province headed by Gov. Daniel Fernando, Vice Gov. Alex Castro, Malolos City Mayor Christian Natividad and chairman Dr. Rene Escalante of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), who accompanied Duterte-Carpio to a wreath-laying activity at the monument of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo.
