THE local government of Tampakan town in South Cotabato province has demanded tax dues worth P397 million from Sagittarius Mines Inc. (SMI), the operator of a controversial $5.9-billion mining project.
The mining firm, however, questioned the local government unit's (LGU) bid to collect the amount before a local court.
