REMITTANCES from Filipinos working abroad increased by 2.3 percent year on year to reach $3.24 billion in July this year from $3.17 billion in the same month in 2021, data from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) showed Thursday.
BSP attributed the hike in personal remittances to the money sent by land-based workers with work contracts of one year or more, and sea- and land-based workers with work contracts of less than one year.
