'Peso depreciation good for budget'

FINANCE Secretary Benjamin Diokno on Wednesday said the impact of the Philippine peso depreciation against the United States dollar is 'favorable' to the country's budget.

The Finance secretary made the statement after Sen. Maria Imelda Josefa 'Imee' Marcos asked Diokno about how the current value of the US dollar affected the growth projection in the Philippines.
