LGU debt applications down 72 percent

DEBT applications by local government units (LGUs) declined by 72.53 percent to P21.04 billion in the eight months to August, the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) said.

BLGF data obtained by The Manila Times on Tuesday showed LGUs' total borrowing application was at P49.44 billion, 75.13 percent lower than a year earlier.
