NET foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows totaled $471 million in June, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) reported on Monday, down a steep 51.5 percent from the $971 million recorded a year earlier.

"FDI net inflows declined following the drop in nonresidents' net investments in debt instruments of their local affiliates due to higher repayments during the month," the central bank said in a statement, adding that "this muted the increase in their net investments in equity capital and reinvestment of earnings."
