Eala makes semis in US Open girls singles

FILIPINO teen tennis sensation Alex Eala defeated Russian Mirra Andreeva, 6-4, 6-0, in the quarterfinals of the US Open girls singles tournament at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York City early Friday (Philippine time).

Andreeva is Eala's partner in the girls doubles event here where they reached the second round.
