ON THE CONTRARY

IF watching public officials make a fool of themselves is a professional sport, I would assume that many citizens on the lookout for them would have already been famous, or rich, or both. There are just too many jaw-dropping moments that can leave you dazed, and sometimes, enraged. After all, these people are being paid from our hard-earned taxes, and while to err is human, we expect them to try a little bit harder to be more prudent in what they say or do. What is even more disturbing is that some of these are not just plain human errors, but appear to be sincere and genuine, some done with deliberate conviction.
