Japan hikes daily entry cap on travelers

TOKYO: Japan raised on Wednesday the daily entry cap on visitors to the East Asian country from 20,000 to 50,000 in a bid to bolster its ailing tourism sector amid the coronavirus pandemic.

It also exempted travelers from taking Covid-19 tests 72 hours before their departure if they have received three vaccination doses.
