Caloocan police assure peace, order in Pangarap Village

CALOOCAN Police Department (CPD) chief Col. Samuel Mina dispelled rumors that the local policemen had been remiss in their duty to protect the beleaguered residents of Pangarap Village in Caloocan City that had been reportedly locked down inside their community by security personnel of realtor Carmel Development Inc. (CDI).

During a courtesy call by Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP)-National Capital Region Commissioner Rey Galupo, the police chief acknowledged the need to beef up the deployment of men inside the informal settlers' community, as there had been reported incidents of villagers being harassed by a number of CDI personnel.
