LAST-MINUTE bargain hunting saved the local bourse from the red territory on Thursday, as it inched up by 4.63 points (+0.07 percent) to 6,588.28 after the previous two-day drop.
"Bank lending growth of 11.9 percent year on year in July also helped boost the sentiment at home, but the index failed to return above the 6,600 levels," Claire Alviar, research associate at Philstocks Financial Inc., said.
