Northern Samar receives livelihood program from BPI

BPI Foundation, the social development arm of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), in partnership with Bayan Academy, recently capacitated 50 individuals from Northern Samar with relevant skills that aimed to help the underemployed and unemployed under the BPI Techncal Vocational (Techvoc) program.

Of the 50 Techvoc scholars, 25 individuals from Lavezares, who were supervised by community partner, The Sisters of the Divine Mercy, completed training on bread production while 25 inmates, from Allen sub-provincial jail, completed training on producing organic vegetables. They obtained a certificate of training from Balicuatro College of Arts and Trade, and a certificate of competency from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, leading to a National Certificate 2 on bread and pastry making, and organic farming, respectively.
