FORMER Manila mayor and House Deputy Speaker Jose "Lito" Atienza Jr. expressed sadness at the public and the government's indifference in the commemoration of the Plaza Miranda bombing in 1971 and the assassination of former senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr. in 1983, both of which happened on August 21.
He said these two historical but violent events came and went without proper remembrance by the government and the public.
