Stop PAP importation from ASF-hit countries

AGRICULTURE industry leaders and animal health experts on Tuesday urged President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. to recall a memorandum order issued by resigned Agriculture Undersecretary Leocadio Sebastian that allowed the importation of processed animal protein (PAP) from countries affected by African swine fever (ASF).

Agricultural group Samahang Industriya ng Agrikultura (Sinag) Executive Director Jayson Cainglet said that the local agriculture industry, the National Advisory Committee for Animal Disease Control and Emergency, and other allied sectors in the veterinary and animal health sectors signed a resolution opposing Memorandum Circular Number 4 signed by Sebastian.
