DA admits garlic in short supply

THE Department of Agriculture (DA) on Tuesday reported a shortage in garlic supply in the country, saying for 2022, the agency expects at least a 63,000 metric ton deficit in the commodity.

During a hearing of the House Committee on Agriculture and Food, the DA said the country's total garlic supply for 2022 is pegged at 82,950 metric tons.
