Biden: Kyiv to get $3B in military aid

WASHINGTON, D.C.: Six months after Russia invaded Ukraine, United States President Joe Biden announced on Wednesday (Thursday in Manila) that he was sending $2.98 billion in new military aid to Ukraine that would provide longer-term weapons and training to enable forces there to fight for years to come.

In a statement, Biden said the aid would allow Ukraine to acquire air defense systems, artillery systems and munitions, drones and other equipment 'to ensure it can continue to defend itself over the long term.'
