THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) assured the public that the country has enough supply of salt, dispelling speculations of a shortage following price adjustments shown in a bulletin on the latest suggested retail prices (SRPs) of basic goods.

During the Laging Handa Public Briefing on Thursday, DTI Consumer Protection Group Undersecretary Ruth Castello clarified that the higher price of salt in the market was only a result of the government body's approval of manufacturers' request to increase their selling price after keeping it steady over the last six years.
