6 BoC officials sacked amid sugar smuggling probe

(UPDATE) SIX officials of the Bureau of Customs (BoC) have been relieved from their posts amid the investigation into alleged sugar smuggling in the Port of Subic in Zambales, Malacañang said on Wednesday.

In a press briefing, Press Secretary Rose Beatrix 'Trixie' Cruz-Angeles said the BoC officials have been 'transferred' because of their supposed participation in the smuggling of sugar from Thailand.
