THE Federation of Free Farmers (FFF) on Tuesday asked President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. to order the Land Bank of the Philippines to release P1 billion in income support for 181,000 farmers nationwide under the Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RFFA) program being administered by the Department of Agriculture (DA).
FFF Chairman Leonardo Montemayor said that based on initial field reports, for 2021 alone, the LandBank's backlog includes 10,000 farmers in Region 1 (Ilocos); 50,000 in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley); 15,000 in Region 3 (Central Luzon); 8,000 in Region 4B (Mimaropa); 80,000 in Region 6 (Western Visayas); and 18,000 in Region 7 (Central Visayas).
