Palace hands off as sugar import mess amid Senate probe

MALACANANG on Tuesday distanced itself from the ongoing Senate investigation into the fiasco caused by the unauthorized approval of an order to import 300,000 metric tons (MT) of sugar.

In a press briefing, Press Secretary Rose Beatrix 'Trixie' Cruz-Angeles said the Palace would let Congress investigate the issue.
