Philippines yields to Vietnam in AVC opener

The Creamline Cool Smashers-bannered Philippine team yielded to Vietnam, 19-25, 17-25, 29-31, in their opening game in the 2022 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Cup for Women on Sunday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

Playing without stars Jia De Guzman and Alyssa Valdez, who are sidelined due to health and safety protocols and dengue fever, respectively, the Cool Smashers could not sustain their good starts in the first and second sets.
