Preparing for school

BEFORE the pandemic, a typical early morning in Philippine cities and towns would see thousands of students making their way to school — mainly on foot, some on bicycles. On many national and local roads, students walked or biked on the same roadway as motor vehicles, mixing in the same space because sidewalks and bike lanes were either missing, obstructed or too narrow.

This situation will soon return when face-to-face classes resume.
