THE Philippine Blu Boys will make a bid for next year's men's softball World Cup in New Zealand as they leave for Japan by the end of the month to compete in the qualifier.

"We believe we have a relatively good chance of taking one of the two slots at stake as Japan will take the first seat in all probabilities. This is part of our continuous effort to develop men's softball here," said Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (Asaphil) president Jean Henri Lhuillier.
