UN envoy travels to strife-torn Myanmar

UNITED NATIONS: The United Nations special envoy for Myanmar traveled to the Southeast Asian nation on Monday for the first time since she was appointed to the post last October.

The trip by Noeleen Heyzer followed the UN Security Council's latest call for an immediate end to all forms of violence and unimpeded humanitarian access in the strife-torn country.
