FOR the seventh straight day, the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) went up but with bigger gains on Tuesday, by 1.67 percent, or 112.80 points, to close at 6,850.64.

Philstocks Financial Inc. research associate Claire Alviar and Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. chief economist Michael Ricafort said positive market sentiment dominated the market as the economic environment continued to improve, especially with the good earnings performance of listed companies in the first six months of the year despite high inflation during the second quarter.
