THE Commission on Population and Development (PopCom) reported a decreasing trend in the country's young population while there was a significant increase in the senior citizen population, as seen from data from 2000 to 2020.
From the recent report of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), PopCom derived that the percentage of Filipino children under 5 years old was at 10.2 percent in 2020, compared to 12.6 percent in 2000.
