FINANCIAL institutions who are not under the supervision of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and that wish to function as virtual asset service providers (VASP) have only until the end of this month to submit an application, the regulator announced on Friday.

The central bank said in a statement that this came about after its policymaking Monetary Board approved a modified approach to the grant of VASP license in line with the BSP's mission to uphold the integrity and stability of the financial system and increase consumer confidence in the digital ecosystem.
