THE Supreme Court upheld the ruling of the Court of Appeals (CA) issuing a writ of amparo in favor of a widow whose husband was an alleged victim of a drug-related extrajudicial killing (EJK) perpetrated by police officers in Antipolo City, Rizal.

The ruling penned by Justice Jhosep Lopez of the Supreme Court's Second Division unanimously denied the petition for review filed by law enforcement officers questioning the decisions of the CA that affirmed the writ issued in favor of Christina Gonzales.
