THE Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) expressed 100 percent support for the pronouncement of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. during his first State of the Nation Address to make the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) mandatory for senior high school (SHS) students.

During the Laging Handa Public Briefing on Tuesday, CHEd Chairman J. Prospero de Vera 3rd said that if the mandatory ROTC for SHS students will be implemented, the commission is ready to propose amendments to the National Service Training Program (NSTP) Law to offer an advanced ROTC program for tertiary education learners, as the basic program will be offered in SHS.
