Saudi economy swelled nearly 12% in April–June

RIYADH: A surging oil sector helped Saudi Arabia's economy expand nearly 12 percent year on year in the second quarter of 2022, the country's statistics agency reported on Sunday.

The Middle East's largest economy has benefited from a spike in oil prices triggered by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and has largely resisted appeals from Western countries to raise output in order to bring prices down.
