CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro: A farmers' rights group has sought the help of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) to investigate the killing of two farmers in the province of Batangas that the military and police claim are members of the New People's Army.
In a statement emailed to The Manila Times on Thursday, the Tanggol Magsasaka Timog Katagalugan (TMTK or Defend Farmers Southern Tagalog) condemned the killing of Kyllene Casao, 9, on July 18 in Barangay Guinhawa, Taysan, Batangas, and Maximo Digno, 56, on July 26 in Barangay Kahil, Calaca, Batangas.
