(UPDATE) A LOW pressure area (LPA) off extreme Northern Luzon is predicted to escalate into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Friday, July 29.
Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said in an interview with The Manila Times that the LPA was last seen past 4 a.m., Friday, some 1,020 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.
