Japan must end plan to pollute Pacific Ocean

TOKYO: Nuclear energy authorities in Japan recently authorized a highly controversial plan to discharge radioactive wastewater from a crippled nuclear power plant into the Pacific, an ocean shared by many dozens of countries and regions.

The Nuclear Regulation Authority's decision is an egregiously dangerous and irresponsible move. It blatantly disregards the public health and well-being of its own people and those in neighboring countries. It once again reveals the conscienceless nature of the Japanese government.
