WASHINGTON, D.C.: An antibiotic taken after sex without a condom can drastically reduce the rate of three bacterial sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) among high-risk groups, data from a clinical study showed on Wednesday (Thursday in Manila).

The research was presented at the 24th International AIDS conference in the Canadian city of Montreal, where it was hailed as a major development.
