NBI chief found dead in own house

ZAMBOANGA CITY: The chief of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Zamboanga Sibugay was killed after shooting himself in the chest.

Police said Akmat Sampang was dead when his body was found by his partner on Saturday evening, July 23, inside their house in Ipil town. Police said Sampang, who was allegedly cleaning his pistol, told the woman, whose name was not made public, to buy coconut juice.
