Vendor Joe Tagle, 67, sells his popsicles to local tourists swimming on the sandbars of Calatagan, Batangas on Saturday, July 23, 2022. Tagle, a native of neighboring Matangbukay, Lian, Batangas, has been selling ice buko (coconut) popsicles for 15 years by day and drives a village ambulance by night. Although he does not need the extra income these days because he already has four grown children, who all have white-collar jobs, Tagle believes he would get weak if he does not work a single day and becomes idle with his time.
