CHR lauds DepEd adoption of RBE framework

THE Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has welcomed the Department of Education's (DepEd) policy adopting the Rights-Based Education (RBE) framework for Philippine basic education.

'The obligation of the state in attending to the people's right to education must cater both to its accessibility and the quality of education received so that child learners, in particular, can be productive members of the society and ultimately participate in nation-building,' lawyer Jacqueline Ann de Guia, CHR executive, said in a statement.
