THE Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) began the week up by 73.52 points (1.19 percent) to close at 6,268.78.
According to Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. chief economist Michael Ricafort and Regina Capital Development Corp. Managing Director Luis Limlingan, this was triggered by the positive market sentiment from the United States, which closed sharply higher last Friday, fueled by upbeat earnings and strong economic data.
