TUGUEGARAO CITY: As swine clustering commences in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley,) the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 2 (DA-RFO2) through its Livestock Program has continued distributing sentinel piglets in the region's "pink" zones after a year of battling African swine fever (ASF).
Pink zones serve as a buffer, where ASF disease is not present but adjacent to an infected zone, or an area previously infected but the virus has not been detected for at least 90 days and thus has recovered from infected status.
