OUR Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) reportedly encountered a large number of students submitting work with high degrees of similarity to existing and published work. With over 50,000 students in 60 programs, manual methods of verifying the originality of student work were limited, inefficient and time-consuming.

OLFU identifies academic integrity as one of the University's key performance indicators, thus, overcoming the challenge of academic misconduct present within the institution is a top priority. In line with this, Jack Brazel, regional director, South East Asia, Turnitin, and Dr. Michael Joseph Diño, research director, Research Development and Innovation Center, Our Lady of Fatima University, share with The Manila Times their insights on academic integrity, ethical frameworks and deploying the right digital tools to support and cultivate authenticity within today's hybrid learning environment.
