The Lourdes Montinola Piña Weaving competition returns on Year 5

The stage is set for piña fabric artisans once again. After the long-drawn pandemic, it is time to showcase their unique talents anew in the art of weaving, dyeing, embroidering, and embellishing piña via the 5th Lourdes Montinola Weaving Competition.

Now welcoming new entries from all over the Philippines, the noted piña weaving contest is back and will be one of the highlighted activities during HABI Philippine Textile Council's 'Likhang Habi Market Fair,' slated from October 14 to 16, 2022 at

As before, the competition hopes to help strengthen public awareness and patronage of piña, while preserving this precious local art and tradition.
