A gun ban or suspension of permits to carry firearms outside of residence (PTCFOR) in the National Capital Region (NCR) will be imposed from July 22 to 26, 2012, a ranking official said.
In an interview with reporters, Philippine National Police's (PNP) Director for Operations (DO) MGen. Valeriano De Leon said the 6-day gun ban was intended to ensure that the first State of the National Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. will be safe.
