Lorenzana ends term with untarnished legacy, modernized DND

APPOINTED by former president Rodrigo Duterte as then secretary of National Defense in 2016, retired Army general Delfin Lorenzana formally stepped down as Department of National Defense (DND) chief on June 30.

Known for his untarnished record in public service, the 73-year-old former Defense chief established a legacy, summarized by a modernized and highly functional defense setup that would enable the protection of the country's national interests and the effective response to terrestrial and global security challenges.
