LOCAL feed millers are appealing to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., who also sits as the chief of the Department of Agriculture (DA), to adopt stop gap measures that would facilitate the importation of corn used as a major feedstock component of poultry and livestock growers.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Philippine Association of Feed Millers Inc. (Pafmi) said the immediate importation of corn would fill in the gap in local corn supply as well as substitute for the higher-priced feed wheat.
