China strives to sustain recovery in H2

BEIJING: As Covid-19 outbreaks across the country begin to wane and pro-growth policies take effect, China is exerting efforts to maintain its recovery trajectory in the second half of 2022.

The world's second-largest economy came under severe strain from the resurgences in coronavirus infections and overseas geopolitical conflicts that began in the first quarter. To help it navigate these, Chinese policymakers have implemented measures ranging from bolstering market entities to spurring local demand.
