Protesters storm Sri Lanka leader's residence

COLOMBO: Sri Lankan protesters demanding their leader's resignation forced their way into his official residence on Saturday, a local television report said, as thousands again took to the streets of Colombo to decry the South Asian island nation's worst economic crisis since its independence in 1948.

It was not clear if President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was inside the presidential palace in the capital, but footage shot on mobile phones showed a large number of people inside the well-fortified house and on the grounds outside.
